Crosslink Your Fingers....

Just a few weeks ago i came across this nifty gadget from Asus called a Cross Link cable that enables you to link 2 PCs -dekstop/notebook/netbook- for either synchronization, file transfer purposes, internet/optical drive sharing or just for purposes of making some people go 'ohhh and ahhh'.

Ok now so what if it can do all those things? I can just do it via LAN, Ad Hoc, WiFi, Flash Drives or just switch to Cloud Computing all my stuff, right? RIGHT?!

Yes everything is doable via all those things but most of the time, you need to set up everything first before you can proceed with whatever it is you want. Plus, not everyone is tech-savvy or knowledgeable enough to be able to work their way around a network.

e.g.

Guy 1: Hey, you still have those movies you downloaded?
Guy 2: Sure. You have a flashdrive with you?
Guy 1: Errr, no? T_T
Guy 2: No prob, i have one
Guy 1 : Yay! ^_^
Guy 2: Oh noez! I don't have enough space and i can't delete any of these files to make space.
Guy 1: Oh Noez! T_T
Guy 2: I know, i'll just dump it on your PC since we're connected via a network!
Guy 1: Yay! ^_^
Guy 2: So what's your computer's name?
Guy 1: I dunno.
Guy 2: Ok how about your IP?
Guy 1: .....my....wut?
Guy 2: T_T.....
Guy 1: T_T.....

This is where the Asus CrossLink cable shines. It basically eliminates any arduous task of transferring files and synching your Outlook stuff  from one PC to another. As simple as Plug and Play, combined with an intuitive software -no installation needed- .

It also has a remote link feature that lets you hook up to the Internet from the primary PC.

For netbook users, it can enable them to use another desktop's/notebook's cd/dvd drive.

but wait!! there's more!!

aside from being just a cable, it has a 2gig onboard storage that can be used as a flash drive.

**WOW**

On a more serious note, this may not be a sought after gadget for high level geeks out there, but the usefulness it can provide to a regular user makes the product worth it.

Sadly, it's not yet available locally. You can order it online though through Amazon for about $25 (roughly about P1,200).
